Wellington Visitor Information Centre

There is usually something happening in Wellington. You can visit the Information Centre to find out more. The central city is eminently walkable. A range of tours are available from the city including visits to Lord of the Rings filming sites.
The City Council has an art collection displayed in its buildings. One place to look is in the Council meeting rooms on the ground floor next to the Wakefield street entrance. All the works can be viewed on-line.
