Wellington Free Ambulance Building - St Johns Bar & Eatery

Art Deco style from William Turnbull -purpose built for the Wellington Free Ambulance - opened in 1933. The design was influenced by the Napier earthquake with reinforced concrete replacing brick. During the late eighties and the nineties it was a music venue. Now it’s a stylish Bar/Restaurant highly rated for its food.
