Wellington Botanic Gardens

Part of Wellington's town belt, theBotanic Gardens host a variety of gardens, sports fields, open-air concert venues and a sculpture walk. Attractions for children include a duckpond and a playground and a Children's Garden. The Sound Shell is a venue for free annual Summer City concerts. The Lady Norwood Rose Garden is popular with visitors.

TRANSPORT Walk down to the gardens from the top of the Cable Car or: Bus route 3 runs from Lyall Bay to Karori and through Courtenay Place and Lambton Quay; Routes 13 and 21 stop on Glenmore Street at the main entrance to the Gardens.
