Wellington Cable Car Museum

Located at the upper terminus of the Cable Car, this museum illustrates how the Cable Car has changed since it was first built to open up the suburb of Kelburn. The museum is home to two of the original grip cars and the historic winding machinery once used to haul the cars through a series of tunnels up the steep incline. Kids find the historic machinery fascinating.
