Philosophy House

Wellington City Community Halls

Now home to the School of Philosophy Wellington, an institution that "exists simply that students may study and pursue a philosophic way of life", this building was initially built by the Salvation Army as a training facility - the William Booth Memorial Training College. Theneo-Georgian Buildingwas constructed in 1913 and in 1927 won the first ever gold medal of the NZ Institute of Architects for its designer Stanley W. Fearn.
