12 Rangiriri Road, Rangiriri-Huntly West, Waikato
This historic building is occupied by Ngati Naho, the tangata whenua (people of the land) of Rangiriri. It was not until 2016 that this Iwi had their Waitangi claim settled and part of the town of Rangiriri returned. In 2018 they revived the closed cafe and museum and recommenced telling their story. Along with some great Maori Kai (food). There is also a Ngati Naho art gallery here in Rangiriri and the local tavern has long been famously hospitable.
The history here centres around the battle of Rangiriri Paa, and Te Wheoro's redoubt.
