101 West Coast Road, Arthurs Pass, Selwyn
There are actually several waterfalls by this name in New Zealand but this is probably the best recognised due to it's proximity to the highway.
To find the start of the one hour (return) walkway to the falls, it look for the the sign on the right at the north-west end of the township. (Punchbowl Road)
The track takes you along the bank of the Bealey River, crosses two bridges, then climbs, via zig zagging steps, through beech forest to the waterfall which plunges 131m into the valley.
In heavy rain the first creek can flood, so use common sense and take precautions.
