Matakana Village

With the burgeoning of the region as source of different wines Aucklanders have awakened to the bountiful Matakana region and on the weekend it has become a mecca for the well heeled with a passion for fashionable cuisine The Matakana Village Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8am until 1pm. The market is held within a complex by architect Noel Lane with a design influenced by local historic buildings. In addition to the specialty shops there is a three-theatre boutique cinema complex.
