Dunedin Law Courts

Designed by Government architect, John Campbell, this Stone, Scottish Baronial 1902 building is his most notable work. Despite its rich ornamentation, its exterior of breccia and limestone is sufficiently forbidding to suit its function.

It houses four court rooms including the Supreme Court which has fine rimu mouldings and carvings and ornate cast-iron work. It even hosts an Italian marble statue of Justice in a niche above the doorway.
