Lilburn House

Leading New Zealand composer Douglas Gordon Lilburn (1915-2001) lived here when he was a lecturer in music at Victoria University. Lilburn had a brief affair with Rita Angus whose cottage is close by. In contrast to its neighbours his modest flat-roofed house, built in 1951 is in a 'modern' style. It is now a place for composers to live.
