Now an art school Inverlochy was once the centre of a large estate originally owned by prominent business man and national politician Thomas Kennedy Macdonald. Designed by Thomas Turnbull the housewas first occupied in 1868. At present after an interesting history the owner is the New Zealand Academy of fine Arts.
