Plimmer House

Dwarfed by the surrounding office blocks and now housing a highly rated upmarket restaurant, (theBoulcott Street Bistro), this Gothic cottage was built in the early 1870s. John Plimmer, the Wellington businessman whose statue stands at the foot of the nearby steps named after him, did not live here, but it was inhabited by members of the Plimmer family for fifty years in the early 20th century.
