231 Lambton Quay, Te Aro-Wellington Central, Wellington City
Occupying an important corner site, the MLC building was built in 1938 - 40 to a design by Wellington architects Mitchell and Mitchell. The clock, removed from the Old Post Office after the 1942 quake, found a home here in 1953. The MLC building in Auckland is a very close cousin, also built on a corner site but in 1957.
In line for their policy of inhabiting heritage buildings, Quest Serviced Apartments are the upstairs occupants here.
