Midland Park

Midland Park with its adjacent cafes and coffee shops is a popular place with Wellingtonians at lunch time.
Standing in the corner of the park is a beautiful 3 metre statue of Katherine Mansfield by Sculptor Virginia King. It is lit up from inside.The steel figure is covered in passages of her writing. Even her hair is made up of shopping lists found in her journals. Schoolgirls familiar with Mansfield's work can be seen looking for passages they recognise.
