Scorch O Rama

This sea-side café in a great location where food and drinks are delivered across the road was used by the Lord of the Rings stars during shooting. It was then called the Chocolate Fish but closed at the end of 2007. However it is open again with it's new name. Popular with local walkers and cyclists at breakfast time because that's when it gets the best sun. Scorching Bay has a safe sandy beach and is sheltered in a Northerly wind. A surprising number of Wellingtonians choose to get down to their bathers and take a dip in the Cook Strait in the summer months when the wind sun and tide sometimes coincide at this pretty beach.
