120 Riddiford Street, Newtown, Wellington City
Not quite the Flatiron building but Newtown's equivalent, given a distinctive NZ flavour by the cabbage trees. This building has been here since 1907, five years after New York's Flatiron was built.
An important building in its Newtown setting it is said to have a "vigorous and assertive design that makes full use of Classical motifs and ornamentation."
