The Lang house is for New Zealand a modernist landmark in domestic dwellings. Designed by Ernst Plischke, it was built in 1952, and has a Category 1 heritage listing.
Heritage New Zealand notes the style as being of the period 1940-1960 commenting that it is more characteristic of international Modernism than of NZ trends at the time.
