Lang House Karori

The Lang house is for New Zealand a modernist landmark in domestic dwellings. Designed by Ernst Plischke, it was built in 1952, and has a Category 1 heritage listing.
Heritage New Zealand notes the style as being of the period 1940-1960 commenting that it is more characteristic of international Modernism than of NZ trends at the time.

The owner Henry Lang was an influential Secretary of the Treasury.
Over the years the house has been extended and re-roofed.
