48 Kent Street, Kingston, Queenstown-Lakes
Queenstown-Lakes Community Halls
This adorable little library is a borderline entry into the category of tiny libraries.
It seems to have more comfortable proportions than some of it's peers, but squeaks in on sheer cuteness, heritage and character.
Kingston is a town of only 300 permanent residents, though development plans are threatening their peace, as the resort town of Queenstown looks further afield for green space.
The contented souls of Kingston have been blessed with a good set of community facilities in just the right scale until now, this library being part of the landscape for many years, we would love to know how many. It is run by the District Council and is open for a few hours each on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
It was reported that half the town jammed themselves in the library to look at a fast internet terminal when the government upgraded rural broadband in 2014.
NZPlaces needs a photo or two of this little library. Please feel free to send one in.
