Waikawa Marina

A 600 berth marina close to Picton provides moorings and other facilities for Queen Charlotte Sound boaties. International arrivals can land here if advance notice is given to the Customs Service and Agriculture Authorities.

Sailors in the sounds need to be aware that the Marlborough Sounds are prone to willywaws (swirling vortexes ripping down from mountains), so that it is wise not to carry too much canvas.
