Pahi

Leisure fishing is what distinguishes Pahi: a small settlement in the tidal Kaipara harbour 6km from Paparoa township. You can buy fresh fish of the boat or fish for schnapper or kahawai off the wharf your self. At low tide pick NZ Green Lipped Mussels and Pacific Oysters. There is a camping ground in the public reserve and a famous Moreton Bay fig tree planted about 1850.

The town on the other side of the inlet is named Whakapirau and it looks somewhat like this recent Dick Frizzell Print:
