Kauri Bushmans Memorial Reserve

This pretty reserve near the Kaipara Harbour and the Kauri Museum now has a raised track and shoe cleaning facilities to prevent the spread of kauri dieback disease.
You need to drive off the main highway to find this stand of Kauri but it's worth the short detour, particularly as a chance to walk (a 15 minute track) among the living trees before you visit the Kauri Museum and are set to wonder what the land might have been like before the bushmen started felling.
