White Pine Bush Scenic Reserve

A remnant lowland podocarp forest (19 hectares) with white pine (kahikatea) dominant. The bird population includes bellbirds (korimako), fantail (piwakawaka), kingfisher (kotare), tui, kereru, and ruru. Two walking tracks, (30 mins and 1 hour). The shorter track is suitable for wheelchairs.

The car park here can be a good place to start on the Tangoio walkway which leads south from here.
