19 Earnscleugh Road, Clyde-Bridge Hill, Central Otago
Famously designed by Ernst Plischke after a long bus journey from Wellington, this was his only New Zealand house built of stone (1950) and is regarded as one of the most important built by the Austrian-born architect. It is now home to an artist in residence. This is not a position open to application but one subject to invitation from the Henderson Arts Trust. The house features in the book: "MODERN - New Zealand Homes from 1938 to 1977". It was restored and renovated in 2012.
