The Rewi Alley Reserve Fitness Trail is one of the many features of the Reserve which Include the Playground, Basketball Court and Public Toilets.
The Fitness Traial has 5 stations including;
Air Walker and Dip and Crunch Station
· Air Walker - Grasp handle bar and step onto foot pads. Move the foot pads back and forth in a striding motion.
· Dip - Step between bars and grip them. Support body weight with arms. Slowly lower and raise body by bending arms.
· Crunch - Back into the bars and grip the handles. Support body on the forearms. Slowly raise and lower thighs to the horizontal position
Situp Bench and Leg Press
· **Sit Up Bench - **Lie on the bench and engage legs into braces. Alternately raise and lower upper body into a sitting position.
· **Leg Press - **Sit on the seat and place feet onto foot pads. Slowly push with the legs to raise and lower seat.
**Recumbent Cycle and Pulldown Exerciser **
· **Recumbent Cycle **- While seated, place feet on pedals and rotate in a cycling motion. If required, grip the chair arms for bracing.
· **Pulldown **Exerciser - Sit on the seat and grasp the overhead handles. Pull the handles down to slowly raise and lower the seat.
