Mangemangeroa Walk

From Somerville Road the loop walkway winds through native bush to an estuary taking half an hour. Extensions to the Rotary built loop mean the walkway can also be accessed from the end of Sandspit Road, Pohutukawa Ave, Hayley’s Lane and Point View Drive. At low tide, it is possible to walk from Shelly Park Beach to Cockle Bay. Boardwalks pass under large native trees such as puriri, taraire and totara alongside the river. There are interpretative signs.
