Arc in the Park

The Ark in the Park open sanctuary is a community restoration project in the Cascades Kauri Park, northern Waitakere Ranges. It is a partnership between Forest and Bird and the Auckland Council. The Ark has been steadily expanding, since the original area was established in 2003. It now covers approximately 2300 hectares. Open between 7am and 7:30pm in winter, and until 9pm in summer, Arc in the Park takes in the Auckland City Walk, a well-maintained loop track, which generally takes around 45 minutes to complete.
