Hard to Find Bookshop

This Auckland institution has, over recent times, experienced major changes. The owners established a solid online business (stocking 500,000 titles) via premises in central Dunedin, then departed their venerable Auckland HQ in Onehunga for a new home in the city. Certainly the move has been Onehunga’s loss - despite a desperate fundraising campaign, they just couldn’t afford to buy the building - but the new digs are a stately former nun’s home on St Benedict’s St. Donated generously by the Catholic Church, this is a fittingly eccentric spot for one of the country’s great bookshop attractions.
