Mount Hutt Ski Area

Mount Hutt is a large (by New Zealand standards) skifield with runs for all skill levels. It offers a range of tows over the 478 hectare park, which usually opens in May or June for the season.

90 minutes drive from Christchurch City and closer from nearby service town Methven, the field usually enjoys good snow thanks to it's altitude and investment in snowmaking and grooming equipment. Skiing Packages from Christchurch have proved popular.
