Originally built in 1918 as an engineering workshop, warehouse and office for John Chambers. Its 20thC architects, with a design modern for the time, were Hoggard, Prouse & Gummer. For a period the New Zealand Film Archive and Film Centre were based here followed by would be world conquering small business cloud accountancy provider Xero. A 21stC seismic upgrade and incorporation of flexible working spaces for Xero won an architectural award for Studio Pacific Architecture in 2012.
Xero now has its principal office nearby on the corner of Wakefield and Taranaki Streets.
