Lower Moutere Recreation Reserve is located on Chings Road, Lower Moutere.
It comprises a large rectangular area of mown grass surrounded by established trees. A small stream runs along the western boundary of the reserve. A fenced asphalt tennis court is located at the northwestern corner of the reserve. The only building present on the reserve is a small and apparently disused building on the western boundary.The reserve entrance is through white concrete memorial gates that commemorate lives lost in the 1914-1918 war. Some large trees are present around the perimeter of the reserve, including Phoenix palm, magnolia, giant sequoia, tarata and cedar. The main use of the reserve is for recreation and informal sporting activities.
Dogs are prohibited on this reserve except for dog obedience and tracking classes.There are many places within Tasman District to exercise your dog, both on and off the leash. Dogs are prohibited in several beach and reserve areas, and other areas require leash control.Read more about dog exercise areas
