An ambitious plan seeks to make this place into an edible park featuring a heritage orchard, multiple herb and vegetable beds showcasing a variety of growing techniques, space for educational workshops and an amphitheatre for public gatherings and events.
Several complementary buildings are included in the proposal, the latest and greatest being a transparent dome of enormous proportions which would create tropical growing conditions for the likes of bananas and coffee, and provide shelter for educational projects at the orchard.
To fund the project $300,000 in public donations and grant funding was supplemented by $65,000 raised in a crowdfunding campaign.

In September 2019 it was announced the projectwas to be reviewed because of failure to raise money.
