NZ Racing Conference Building - Lido Cafe

Home to the popular Lido Café, and sitting well on its corner site, the Racing Conference Building has been here since 1959 when it was built by the Williams Construction Company to a design by Ron Muston. The brief said that no expense should be spared on materials. Apopular building it was threatened with demolition because its earthquake strength was inadequate but now after a five month closure it has been refurbished by Opus Architecture to live another day.
