Wellington Civic Centre

The City Library, the City Art Gallery, the Information Centre, the Town Hall and the Michael Fowler auditorium are each accessible from Civic Square. Look for the suspended sculpture by Neil Dawson in the square and the wooden carving on the bridge that leads to the waterfront and the Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa). There is a CafeNet wireless Hotspot here. This splendid open space, used regularly for recreation and entertainment, is a tribute to the city's town planners, architects and artists. Combining terracotta tiles, trees and water features and bounded by interesting places such as the City to Sea Bridge, the City Gallery, and Central Library it is a natural draw card for visitors.
