117 Anzac Avenue, Parnell, Auckland
A two-storied gabled kauri building occupied this site from the 1850s until it was demolished in 1919. It was initially the home of New Zealands first Parliament established by the Constitution Act passed by the British Parliament in 1852. Parliament was here for 10 years moving to Wellington in 1864.
From 1890 the Auckland University College took over the building and it was eventually demolished in 1919. The original buildings are now delineated by a basalt platform and a bronze plaque.
