North Otago Museum

Situated in the 1882 Athenaeum building, the museum covers the heritage of the Waitaki district and includes an extensive archive of photographs, genealogical information and records from local organisations. The first curator was Thomas Forrester the architect of the present building and of others built in Oamaru's era of prosperity.
