The 3.6 hectare landscaped garden and the Arts and Crafts style Chapman-Taylor House are in the care of the Taranaki Regional Council. Tupare is a landscaped garden in the English tradition. Its Maori name means ‘garland of flowers’. This hillside heritage house & garden was established in 1932 by Sir Russell & Lady Matthews.
The garden isopen regularly on a daily basis. .
