Active Solar House

The home and ofice of architect Richard Wright makes use of a north facing orientation and 80% glazing of the north facing walls to provide active solar heating. Rock in the basement is used for heat storage. Automatic controls of ventilation are used to maintain temperatures within a 4 degree band in winter.
