Funky Left Bank, a sheltered place for people, off Cuba Street is home to some of the best value eating places in Wellington, including Satay Kingdom which is tiny but has indoor and out door eating.

Also on the Left Bank and also offering good value are Phong Vu a source of genuine Vietnamese cuisine and highly rated Viva Mexico.

There is a delightful range of other stores in the Left Bank including a goldsmith, second hand books, clothes and an internet café. Gerald Melling, now sadly deceased, of Melling:Morse Architects was the designer of the street.
