Native Land Court

Native land courts played an important part in New Zealand's history dealing as they did with the legal status of Maori owned land. This example, opened in 1922, was built by the Public Works Department when John Campbell was the Government Architect. Find out more of the role the Courts played in the Historic Places entry.
