Karapoti Reserve and Akatarawa Forest

The junction of the Karapoti and Akatarawa Rivers is a great starting point for kayaking, rafting, trout fishing. There is good hunting and tramping in the rugged terrain. Contact senior ranger 526 4133. This is a popular area for trail and mountain bikers, trekkers, bush walkers. It is the starting place for the Karapoti Mountain Bike Classic.
