Matarangi and Kuaotunu

The commercially developed beach settlement of Matarangi sits on a sandspit which includes a golf course and an airstrip. The beach itself is sandy, flat (ideal for blokarts) and safe. Boats can be launched at the south-eastern end of the beach. Also from the south-eastern end a narrow unsealed road (Bluff Road) leads a picturesque route above the coast to Rings Beach and thence to the beautiful beach at Kuaotunu. After a day at the beach try an icecream from the Kuatunu store.
