Tauranga's Historic Village is part authentic and original, part thoughtfully created street of Victorian and Colonial buildings. The little Colonial quarter of town is set in a mix of gardens and native bush for an authentic early New Zealand ambiance. Retailers here number 50 are varied from a boutique theatre and several artists showrooms through to computing and service stores. Entertainment events are sometimes held in the village green and lately the popular Bethlehem Lions market has moved here, bringing stallholders and customers every first and third Sunday of the month.
