Ormondville, Tararua

Ormondville Railway Station

The station built about 1883 has been restored by the Ormondville Rail Preservation Group to the style of the 1950s and converted to a bed and breakfast facility.

Ormondville Station, built in 1880, is one of a handful of early wooden buildings that have been preserved thanks to community efforts. It is rated as one of the finest survivors of the railway era. There is also the preserved station precinct, including goods shed and original track work.

A fine looking Anglican Church (Church of the Epiphany) built in 1891 can be found a block away, at 16 Newton Street.
