Wohler’s Grave, Stewart Island

The German missionary Wohlers established a mission station on Ruapuke Island in Foveaux Strait in 1843. He is buried, along with other members of his family, in a dramatic site on Ringaringa Point, their graves sheltering on low windswept saddle beneath huge macrocarpas.
