24 Wamphray Street, Bayswater-Nightcaps, Southland
An anomaly on an island is 24 Whamphrey Street.
The island is a traffic island, the slim section between High Street West and High Street East in Nightcaps, and Whamphrey is the cross street.
The anomaly is a courthouse that is not only well out of it's comfort zone, having been turned into a family home, but is also misplaced, as it is the courthouse from Winton, but now resides in Nightcaps. It was built in the 1800s, and still looks like a courthouse, with an original vaulted rimu ceiling, complemented by full stud double hung arched sash windows.
You MAY NOT visit the Winton Courthouse in Nightcaps because, despite the absence fencing which not many in Nightcaps seem to want or need, it is a private home.
On the High Street East side of things, across the road is a cottage which has not moved an inch since it was erected in 1905, it is called Sinclair Miner's Cottage and serves as a Heritage piece, the key may be obtained from the Trading Post in town.
