Dawson Falls Power Station

Dawson Falls Power Station has a 75 kilowatt direct current generator built about 1896 by the General Electric Company in New York but the station itself dates from 1934. The generator was previously used by the Kelburn & Karori Tramway Company. The generator is driven by a pelton wheel fed by a penstock with a 67m head. The spiral-welded steel penstock is 635m long.
