26 Glenmore Drive, Woodcocks, Rodney
This is what NZPlaces calls a virtual attraction, because you cannot visit Behemoth Brewing here. It may be where they do their brewing, but the premises belongs to 8 Wired.
Behemoth is a larger-than life Kiwi character brand, run by Wellington lawyer-turned brewer Andrew Childs. Always known as the big guy (he is 6 foot 5) Childs conceived this brand complete with its big name, crazy cartoon styles, off beat promotions, and political messages. The range has grown and the company has too. They distribute around New Zealand and have an online shop.
But it has not been plain sailing for the young company, Childs and his brew-buddy Jason Bathgate were burned and scarred in a big way by a brewery accident that took place here in 2015. They firm also took some flak from supporters of United States President Donald Trump, for naming a beer (and a cool tshirt if you want one) 'Dump the Trump'.
Behemoth marches on, to it's own quirky beat, even if you don't like beer, the website is worth a look purely for the cheeryness and quirkyness of their cartoon styles.
