The Brick Bay Sculpture trailshowcases contemporary New Zealand sculpture by established and emerging artists.
The works are for sale.
Architect Noel Lane who was also responsible for the Auckland Museum's new dome has given the Sculpture Trail a beautifully detailed Glass House sitting on a lake as its gateway. Combined with the sculpture walk in landscaped surrounds it is a first class visual experience.
"Brick Bay Sculpture Trail is an easy 2km walk- suitable for most ages, abilities and manageable with off-road push chairs. There are several sets of easily negotiated stairs and viewing benches are located at regular intervals along the trail." The trail is open daily - there is a $12 admission fee. A winery is part of the Brick Bay complex and the Glass House serves as a tasting room.
Since 2015 an annual competition has invited emerging architects to design a folly for construction on the site.
