Tupare Swamp - Marie Neverman Wetland Reserve

Acting on a bequest, the Native Forest Restoration Trust has bought a 22 ha property that includes an important wetland sanctuary and named it the Marie Neverman Wetland Reserve. It was then increased by 113ha. A number of waterbirds have been seen at the swamp. Purchase of the wetland suited the objective of the Native Forest Restoration Trust to have an accessible reserve close to Auckland to showcase its goals of restoring natural habitats and protecting native flora and fauna.
