Clarke Bluff

Ten kilometres north of the Gates of Haast is Clarke Bluff, a meeting of the Landsborough and Haast Rivers, a corner in the highway, and the start point for some intrepid adventures into the Landsborough Valley beyond.

Many of these adventures are multi day and this area is most succinctly described as wild, with only one hut in the Clarke Valley and few in the Landsborough, so advice from DoC is important for all trampers, rafters and hunters.
